Dr. Jessica L. Parker is a forward-thinking educator, researcher, and entrepreneur actively exploring the integration of artificial intelligence in education. As a Lecturer at MCPHS University and founder of multiple successful educational ventures (Dissertation by Design, The Dissertation Coach, Moxie), she brings a blend of practical experience and academic insight to AI in academia. Dr. Parker’s research focuses on the potential of technology in education, with a growing interest in generative AI. Kimberly is an applied corpus linguist specializing in disciplinary academic writing and computer-assisted language learning. She has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and Technology (Iowa State University, 2022) and an M.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language (Northern Arizona University, 2004). Kimberly has research and teaching experience as a professor and communication consultant and has taught at the high school, community college, and university levels. Her most recent publications are related to the use of ethical AI for academic research and writing and a co-authored book, Preparing to Publish, about composing academic research manuscripts. She enjoys practicing yoga, gardening, and walking with her two poodles in her spare time.
